What is eligible for funding?

Early Phase 1

Establishment and operation of the company’s infrastructure; preparation of the innovation project; research; feasibility studies; development of a work plan; financing concept. Duration: Ends with the launch of the innovation project (no later than one year after the start of funding).

 

Early Phase 2

Expansion and operation of the company’s infrastructure during the innovation project; functional prototype (“proof of concept”); market-oriented product development, production setup, market preparation/launch; Duration: Ends upon completion of the innovation project

 

Funding is provided for:

Personnel expenses (including managing director, administration)Investments (general operating and office equipment)Ongoing operating expenses


Who is eligible for funding?

ProFIT early-stage financing is intended for:

Newly founded, technology-oriented companies based in Berlin.

 

For Phases 1 and 2, the company must have been founded no more than:
Early Stage 1: 12 months ago

Early Stage 2: 24 months ago

How is funding provided?

Amount of Funding:

Early Stage 1:

Companies that have been in existence for no longer than 12 months are eligible for support here. Both grants and loans are available.

Funding Structure: 50% of eligible expenses are provided as a non-repayable grant and 50% as a loan.

Maximum Funding: Up to 200,000 EUR.

 

Early Stage 2:

If the company has already completed the first phase, it can apply for 100% financing of eligible expenses to continue the project in the second phase.

Scope of funding: 100% of the expenses are financed through a loan.

Maximum funding: Up to 500,000 EUR in total (of which a maximum of 200,000 EUR in Early Stage 1).
